Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometry

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometry (NMR) is one of the most important spectroscopic methods for elucidating the structure of organic molecules.

Molecules are placed in a powerful magnetic field to create different energy states which are then detected by absorption of electromagnetic radiation in the radio frequency region. The interpretation of the resulting spectrum gives very specific structural information.

The Bruker 400 MHz instrument can produce multinuclear spectra.


Sample Requirements:   Minimum 50 mg for 13C, 5 mg for 1H.
Other Requirements:      Solubility, details of experiment required, COSHH data.
